Opened in June 2004, the 5000 m2 lagoon in Mývatn is filled with geothermal water rich in minerals, silica and blue green algae. These ingredients offer a nourishing and rejuvenating bathing experience. The steam baths are built over fissures that allows pure and un- polluted steam to rise directly from its source. Architect: Halldór Gíslasson, department dean of architect and design, Iceland Academy of the Arts.
