The Samudera Maritime Museum is a ship shaped Maritime Archaeology Museum. It was constructed as a replica of 'Flor De La Mar', the Portuguese ship that sank off the Coast of Malacca while on its way to Portugal in November 1511.
At the Dutch Square, brightly decorated trishaws await tourists for a ride down memory lane. The trishaws are also equipped with stereo sets and often play loud music while taking visitors around the heritage area.

The morning sun has just risen around the Komtar area in George Town, Penang. The 65-storey (232 m) Komtar Tower is a multipurpose complex where many retail outlets, a bus transportation hub and administrative offices for the Penang State Government are located.
The Penang Botanic Gardens is a favourite place for locals and tourists to enjoy a green environment. Monkeys roam freely in this garden unlike in a zoo. The tram brings visitors around the garden while those who are fit choose to jog. The garden is also called the Waterfall Garden because of the waterfall there.
With the upgraded Penang Hill funicular railway, passengers now have non-stop service in the blue coloured air-conditioned Swiss-made coaches that are capable of ferrying up to 100 passengers at one go. From the hill top, visitors can have a panoramic view of George Town.
Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion is Penang's first grade one restoration project. It was the winner of "Most Excellent Project" UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Conservation Awards 2000. The mansion was the residence of Cheong Fatt Tze who came from a poor Hakka family and later accumulated his wealth through hard work and perseverance.
