仁寿殿 Hall of Benevolence and Longevity
The Hall of Benevolence and Longevity was the most important hall for political
activities in the garden. Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu handled
state affairs and received foreign envoys here.
佛香閣 Tower of Buddhist Incense
The religious pagoda-style tower was first constructed in
1750, the 15th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign, but destroyed
by fire by Anglo-French troops. It was rebuilt in 1891.
