LONDONDERRY: The sight which meets the eye on approaching Londonderry today is of a city perched on a hill with its venerable cathedral dominating the scene. This historic city is famous for its 17th century walls which still encircle the old city. They are about a kilometre in circumference, pierced by seven gates.

The Port of Belfast is Northern Ireland's principal maritime gateway, serving the Northern Ireland economy and increasingly that of the Republic of Ireland. About 60% of Northern Ireland's seaborne trade and 20% of the entire island's is handled by the Port which receives over 6000 vessels each year. Belfast was the finishing port of the Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge, with ships completing over 7,000 nautical miles.

STORMONT: Situated 8 kms from Belfast city centre, Stormont occupies a magnificent site on rising ground in Stormont Park. The main approach is a broad processional avenue 1 km in length, rising gradually from the entrance on the Newtownards Road. The building was erected in 1928-1932. This magnificent historical building is well worth viewing.

QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY, BELFAST: This is imposing Tudor style building with a central tower was first established in 1849 and incorporated as a separate university in 1908. It is admirably equipped with laboratories, museums and an excellent library.

The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of seven fantasy novels for children written by C.S. Lewis. It is considered a classic of children's literature and is the author's best-known work, having sold over 120 million copies in 41 languages. Written by Lewis between 1949 and 1954 the Chronicles of Narnia have been adapted several times, complete or in part, for radio, television, stage, and cinema.

On Convention Court in east Belfast C.S. Lewis is depicted on a mural along with scenes from his most famous book "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe". Close by is another mural just off East Belfast's Dee Street. 'The Searcher', a statue sculpted by local artist Ross Wilson, stands outside Holywood Arches library, near to where Lewis grew up. It shows Professor Digory Kirke, hero of 'The Magician's Nephew', entering the magical wardrobe into Narnia.
