Blue Whale spotted in the Skjálfandi Bay north of Húsavík. Blue Whales are the largest mammals on earth weighing from 110 - 190 tons and measuring about 30 meters. It is believed that about 700 to 1000 of the 4000 estimated existing Blue Whales feed around the Icelandic shores during summer months. |
